Howdy all,

I am looking to buy a shaper and power feeder mainly to T&G.  This will be my first experience with one.  Any sugestions as to what brand and how I might be able to determain the right size for me would be very heplful.  I'll be starting out with about 3000 BF of 1X6 Pine.  Thanks :)  -Mark

What are you looking to spend?  If you go the shaper route, I've had luck with Jet and Bridgewood.  They are identical machines, your just paying a bit more for the Jet name.  You can get a 3hp Bridgewood for about $800.

I have a friend that uses 2  1 1/2 HP Grizzlys' for tounge and grooves on his face-frames.  That is a little underpowered for this application, but you the 2 units make set-up a breeze.  No need to change as long as you have sharp tooling.
