Title: Penguin cam
Post by: Ianab on October 21, 2017, 04:47:43 AM
OK, we don't have Eagle nests to set up a web cam on, but we do have penguins.

These guys are nesting in an abandoned WW2 gun emplacement near the port in New Plymouth. They naturally nest in burrows or under logs, so an old concrete bunker seems like home. Around Wellington they nest under peoples houses. At least that makes it simpler to set up a spy cam on them.  :D

Ianab, thanks for the link.  I've bookmarked it.  Love checking out these sites to see what's going on.  We have one here in Savannah which is a nest that's had eagles, owls and ospreys in it - http://landingsbirdcam.com/.  Have another cam in NW Georgia which is used by eagles - http://www.berry.edu/eaglecam/.
