Made this for some friends

Some friends had there first child and I had some old parts laying around the shop and decided to make them a rocking chair. I used a piece of cedar ( of course) for the top, a piece of purple heart for the back with the K ( which stands for Kannon their sons first name) ,oak for the seat and some mahogany for the supports and arm rests.

Very nice OK. Looks well built and the different species look beautiful. I can see a lot of time and love went into this.

The mother of the new young one house sits and dog sits for us quite often (Well used to). She has babysat for our oldest since he was 1 and we first moved to Oklahoma.She had always called our boys, her boys, but now she has her own. Our oldest was in their wedding and her parents have adopted us as family  Her husband has been coming over and helping me saw, he is fascinated with sawing so he loves to come off bear. With the big walnut I have been sawing and long cedar beams he has been really helpful.
