Just reporting slow response on forum for me today.

Mine is working well but I have had that problem. Have you tried clearing the cache or running disc cleanup? It may not help but worth a shot.

Problem fixed, and I didn't do anything.

Could also be an issue with your ISP or one of the router hops between you and the forum server. You only hear about the really serious faults, minor glitches happen and get fixed all the time.

Had a couple slow ups yesterday afternoon, then it cleared up.

Mine is slower than normal now but it was really slow today after lunch at school/work.  It reminds me of when we used to have dial up internet.

Out of interest, when you get these slowdowns, can you scroll down to the bottom of the page.

There will be a line that says something like
"Page created in 0.122 seconds with 24 queries."

That was for this reply page, which seems to come up faster than the original thread, which was 1 to 1.5 seconds to create.

What that tells us is if the forum server is bogged down and slow to respond, and it takes 10 secs to create the page. Or if the server creates the page quickly, and then it takes 10 more seconds to get the results out to you. First is a problems with the server, the second is a problem with the pipes that get the results out to you.

When I go back and refresh the thread I see
"Page created in 1.817 seconds with 40 queries."
And the screen refreshed in maybe a bit over 2 seconds.  Ping time (signal round trip) from here to the server is 0.17 seconds, so that's basically running "as expected".

There was a notice on the Facebook page that the server was being rebooted about 4 hours ago.

Yeah, the Forum was really, really slow this morning - then I realized it was me. Computer an the Interweb isis fine.
Thought about a funny response for barbender for ten minutes, then sent it to Maximus, then it took fifteen minutes to 'modify' and save.
Head still hurts - probably from thinking about how slow my head works. Ianab; anti-freeze for the pipes please.
All good here, just a lil'frostbite on the brain in the glaciated part of the Forum. 🤕

It has been slow and server error notices tonight. On my pc the new chrome update came up with it being a dangerous link and had to click go anyway for access.  All other sites seem fine.

yeah, no biggie. an evening out of service once in a great while is nothing to worry about. Somebody out there has obviously been working hard on getting things fixed tonight and I for one appreciate their effort. It is what it is, and having a system working 24/7 globally is no small task. I've done it for years and am certainly not going to make any noise when there are tiny issues like this. I appreciate the work that goes into making this available to all of us around the world.

Well when your internet is provided through your phone hot spot one does not notice that things are slow, because they are never fast to begin with.

I did get one of those "timed out" messages about an hour ago, but I was on my phone at the time, and signal wasn't great. So I can't say if it was the server, or my 1 bar of reception.  :-\

It's working again here and fast now. Thanks Jeff. I was blaming it on the new Chrome versions that just updated but apparently it was Russian hackers  :o

It was a table in the gallery database crashing, taking all of mysql with it. Had to isolate it to repair. Hopefully what caused it was an anomaly. I need a stress level break.

I have the gallery shut down as a test. Trying to isolate the issue. Im keeping it off until 8pm or so. Id like to know if things zip along for everyone during that period.
