I have a Stihl MS361 Chainsaw that wasn't getting any spark, OEM coil is like $200 for this model. I have bought 3 aftermarket coils and they lasted about one or two runs. Is their another reason for this. Have checked grounding issues and their are none. Is this a usual problem with aftermarket coils.

They vary greatly in quality, most are made in Asia by unskilled workers and quality assurance is non existent. Buy oem and cry once.

That coil should be the same on many stihl saws.

Your dealer probably has a pile of dead saws that could be donors.

I don't have a 361 IPL to look it up.

Chances are it's the 0000 400 1300 "universal" coil

P.S. avoid chi-com junk!

Edit:  I got a hold of a 361 IPL, turns out the 361 coil is an odd bird.  It is similar to 088/880 coils which are "limited" coils.  Some people use 361 coils on 088/880 to get around the limited coil.

That said,  I'd look for a good used 361 coil, if new Stihl is too expensive.
