Cutting slabs on a modified LT40

Would you really need to extend the guide if the mill is only being used for wide cuts anyway?

I would like to see a video of the equipment and process of loading them logs on the mill. ;)

Two LT70s, Nyle L200 kiln, 4 head Pinheiro planer, 30" double surface Cantek planer, Lucas dedicated slabber, Slabmizer, and enough rolling stock and chainsaws to keep it all running.

terrifictimbers, I didn't get a chance to take more pics yesterday, but I can tell you he has 3/4" threaded rod through the top beam from end to end, and also some t rod tied back to the engine mounting plate to prevent forward flex when tensioning the blade.
Hilltop, he didn't extend the blade guide at first, but found there was enough times he was making narrower cuts, like in crotches, that it was helpful.
Sorry bedway, no video :(  We loaded it with my tractor.

If he can come down and adjust my LT70. ;D  Better yet he could join the forum and show or tell us how he did it. I think that with his level of knowledge and experience he would be a great addition here.
