I am not a big poster but I was going to post a message about a timber I looked at on Sat. They are cutting walnut near my home so I thought I would check it out, they are logging on 400 acres and they are cutting a ton of good quality walnut, I decided to buy some oak/cherry/red elm from them. Anyhow I was sitting at my computer last night getting ready to post this message and my mind drifted to a person I have recently met, his name is Paul and he is my adopt a soldier soldier. I have never met him in person and have only exchanged a few e-mails so far with him. He is from down south and is 28 years old and recently married. I thought of how I sit in my warm house in front of a warm fire and type on my computer a message about what I did on Sat. goofing off looking at walnut logs. My biggest concern was what my wife was cooking for dinner and if she was making a desert. I thought about what his day might be like and what is biggest concerns might be.

I just wanted to mention this fine young man and no matter how you feel about the war that you keep Paul and all his fellow soldiers in your thoughts and in your prayers.
Have a Merry Christmas and remember to be thankful for all the blessing you have been given. ;)
I owe I owe so its off to work I go....

Thanks for reminding us SW. Along that same line Patty and I were sitting around last night in front of the fire drinking a couple of cold ones enjoying ourselves. I mentioned how much I was looking forward to seeing my son that is stationed in Germany, it's been a year since I've seen him. The conversation drifted to how hard it is to be away from your loved ones. My thoughts were how hard it is for us but more so for how hard it is on the families of those in harms way. Brought a lump to my throat. God Bless Them and look after them.

IT'S MY HONOR TO PASS THIS ON:

We really need to do this at this particular time. Also, pray for the families of the loved ones that have lost their lives for our freedom.
Please be proud enough of our military force to pass this along.

I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"

When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea

Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

That is a wondertful poem I had read that also recently. I also have a close friend in the Navy running an escort patrol boat. Their mission is to prevent incidents like the USS COLE from happening. Last week we sent him a 52 pound care package from donations that I collected at work. He is another young man that is sacrificing for us.

We cannot forget the sacrifices so many families make to ensure our freedoms. God Bless them all.
Women are Angels.
And when someone breaks our wings....
We simply continue to fly ........
on a broomstick.....
We are flexible like that.
