How do you clean off the insulation from the pex pipe in the thermopex outdoor wood boiler piping?

Jeff

Cut the outer layer with a good sharp knife back the distance you need from the end. You could even work around it with a backsaw as that outer layer is quite tough. Peel that off then simply break the insulation away from the exposed PEX tubing.  We used a utility knife.

Like Jeff said, use a hand saw to cut the outer jacket and peal it off.   I then used a large machete like knife to cut the insulation away and then used it to scrape off the inner pipes.
Been there, done that.   Never got caught [/b]

hey I am glad stumper asked that question. I am going to be getting my thermopex in a couple of weeks and now I know how to clean the insulation off.

Thanks
