My boss just bought a 268 and we slapped the 24" bar on it that had come with his 576XP which bit the dust earlier this year. I used it today for the first time-- ran great and has plenty of power. This goes well with the 266 we got a few months ago-- we've had to work the bugs out of that one but it runs great now and we have a 28" bar on it. Older saws are replacing the newer ones he bought when he was starting out.
