Thanks for sharing your investigation and info on the toys tools you were looking for and the project.  We all go through the learning curve with first projects, and some beyond first!  It is good to learn tricks and tips from others adventures.

Don't get a lathe.   It is a bottomless pit of tool buying opportunities.   ::)

Depends of course. ;D I have a set of Henry Taylor tools (including a mini set) and have never needed nothing else except a pencil, a home made marking gauge and a piece of scrap plywood for a template and sand paper. ;D  8)  :D :D
