I have a norwood 2000 mill and really like it.The only problems with a band mill is the bands maintiance.I think I would like a swinger but was wondering while cutting with them as stress is relieved in the log if you have alot of thick and thin lumber.Being you start at the top and saw down to the bottom with no turning.IT seems to me there woud be alot of uneven lumber.I really like the board foot per hr on the swingers compared tom the band mills.I like high quality lumber and I have to rotate log on band mill to achieve this. What do you swingers do?I have read this forum for a few years, I have recieved alot of information from this site.I just decided today to register. Thanks to all for your wealth of knowledge from reading everyones post.I am from North central West Virginia was wondering how many if any are from my area?

Hi there and welcome to the forum  :)

Have a read of this thread, it shows our usual technique for stressed log.

It may not remove the effect of stress completely, but it sure helps

Cheers
