Slippery Elm

Just wondering what your thoughts were on Slippery Elm live edge slabs. Sliced up quite a bit into 2+ inch slabs. Lots of character with the crotch areas.

Very pretty.  Has spiral grain so prone to twist and warp.  Best slabs will be quartersawn.  First flatsawn slabs off the log usually move a lot and are a challenge to dry flat.

Thanks WDH. All is stacked and snickered of course, but I added 4 or 5 ratchet straps around each flitch, in an attempt to keep everything flat. I go through all the stacks, and tighten them down every now and then, to account for shrinkage. Might be a waste of time. Only time will tell......Or has this already been tried, and failed?

This slippery elm smells bad when you mill it, but the grain is too nice to not mill it.
