Rats actually make good pets. Contrary to popular belief, they are clean, smart, and very personable.

Then why are they compared to attorneys????  :D

That is an insult to rats everywhere.

The unit on the crate is the whole device, the crate nor the red piece in back of the picture is part of it.

I'll try a hint but never was very good at charades .

Couldn't come up with better hints even if I tried.
I probably couldn't guess it even with these hints.

Can we have one more hint please! Does it have anything to do with farming?

Okay its a contraption to hold hay in a rabbit cage.  It clips on the side you put a miniature hay bale in it so the rabbits to pull down out of the hole in the bottom.

If that's not it.....maybe its a clip to hold female rabbits for breeding, or male rabbits for "fixing".

I dunno those are my SWAG's

I don't know , how they do it now. I have been away from the farm
to long.
As far as the 1955 date my guess is that is when the box was made, but thought that it was in good shape to be so old.

Saw this on display at a farm toy show we went to yesterday.
The gentleman that had it on display was having a lotta fun with it, getting people to guess what it was. He said that he had a few oldtimers come thru that knew exactly what it was. Many others didn't have a clue.

When we asked him how much he wanted for it, he said not for sale.
O well still got to have fun with it, he let me take these pictures to use.
