I see on the site where you can "build your mill" that they offer a laser as an accessory. I have never heard any talk of one being used on here, and was wondering if many people used them or if they are helpful?

I've never used one, but I think they're more for indoor use. It would be nice to have, to line up the blade on the log. Though I think they're a little on the pricey side. Definitely not a necessity, but probably a time saver.

We put one on and it was visible in the pre-dawn hours. Unless your more or less totally enclosed and rely on artificial light, I would spend the money elsewhere.

Our experience was the same, plus it was tore off within in month. Same recommendation.
