What kind of maple does bird's eye maple come from?  I saw some antique furniture over the weekend made of it and it got me to wondering.

Normally sugar maple but can occur in soft maple too.

An unrelated comment, take a look at the link above, whwn you get there, see the broken picture link? Thats what happens on the forum when you link to pictures on another server. They disappear. Thats why I insist that forum pictures follow our specs and are uploaded to the forestryforum server.

well, In a perfect world I would RATHER ya'll used somebody elses server space. :D But it sure is nice to go back 3 years later and still be able to make sense of a post because the pictures are still there. In some instances on the forum, there are pictures that will never be retrieved.
