need logs milled in Central Minnesota
« on: June 07, 2005, 08:05:10 AM »
I have some logs I would like to have milled.  I live about 45 minutes west of Minneapolis/St. Paul.  I have about 13 Maple 16 ft long 16-18" on small end, also some black walnut, soft maple, elm, oak, basswood and a spalted cherry.  By a measurement scale I used it appears to be about 2400 - 2500 bf.  The person who I have used in the past had his phone number disconnected for some reason and am unable to get a hold of him.  Does anyone know of someone in my area. ???

Have you found someone? I know of a fella by the name of Stan Kline that has a mill. I don't have his contact information but he might be listed out in the Cologne area just west of Carver.

I did find someone to mill the logs for me and he did a good job and didn't charge to much but it took him forever and a day.  Thanks for the name of someone else with a saw mill in the area I will try and look him up.

Good...... fast........cheap.......

It is generally easy to get any two of these three but very rare to get all three at once.

Most times I'll wait for good and cheap, but sometimes I'll be willing to pay the extra for good and fast.  :)
