I agree with Ontario Al
I never stuff my furnace full, just 10 or so medium pieces of DRY DRY DRY wood in the am and again in the PM. regardless of outside temp.
sometimes the jacket temp is low in the morning but no problem bringing it back up.
I heat 3200 sq ft to 73 degrees and a 500 ft garage to 45 -50

The 009 pump is what was spec'd by the Central Boiler dealer based on piping and etc. I will talk to them about flushing the boiler, and what to expect there.
009 is right for 1 inch pipe, any bigger then you will have big friction losses  BUT unless  my sums are wrong it will not take all the heat from your boiler.  Maybe that boiler does not need much circulation through it but the ones I have come across do. If you still get problems after flushing you might try running a second pump from another flow and return  on your boiler, preferably the biggest. That will save you  changing your pipework
