Cedarman

I have got pallets of sandpaper from an auction.  Some are in long strips.
Is there a way to glue the ends together to make  a strip to go on a belt sander.  You can buy belts for 3 or 4 dollars ready to go, but I want a way to glue them together. The ones you buy have a strip of tape to hold them together, but I can not find that tape anywhere.  Any ideas?
I am in the pink when sawing cedar.

cedarman:     have made 6x48 belts from roll stock. had to cut strip at angle,[scarf], scrape off about 3/4" of grit on one both ends,no hump, glue and clamp straight and hope all was right. It was a real pain.  They didn't work very well for all the effort.  This was before the flat tape joints. I think tape is a polyester. A three m distributer may be able to help you.    Homer
