Hi Folks, I'm hoping for some ideas here.
I've been running this P24 for about 6 years. Has run great on my phase converter along with my table saw, dust collector, jointer and vertical milling machine.
Well I went to start it the other day (worked fine 2 weeks ago) and it started to spool up and blew the breaker. It has never had electrical issues before. So I dig in, I swapped breakers with my dust collector to see if it was the breaker, same deal. So breakers are good. All my other tools run fine so its not the phase converter. I hot wired the cutter head motor direct to the breaker, same deal blows the breaker. So I got my clamp on amp meter out, 110A+ on two of the three legs, third leg nothing.
So motor needs replaced, repaired I'm thinking.
Anyone with experience on how to remove these old direct drive three phase motors from the cutter heads? Is it worth messing with?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know who can rewind this motor? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks

Electek in Fayetteville, NC can rewind it, but I'd call around to find out if there is a local rebuilder in your area.  I've used Electek for several of my motors with good results.  They were recommended to me by my local generator mechanic.

Most likely there will be a decent one in a major city.
