I currently own (2) 372xp chainsaws, both 2008 models. I saw some pictures of the "new" 372xp, it looks like some things have changed. I was wondering if anyone could tell me when they switched over and what the differences are between the old one and the new one. Did emissions standards change in these new models as well? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The answer is yes they made changes. They introduced a "strato charged" version and  some would say they are an improvement. The early ones might have had teething issues with one thing and another..and there is an argument if that even happened. I can tell you the sample I have run was an improvement to the point I had to have one...in red of course. So I bought a Jonsered CS-2178

What exactly does "strato charged" mean? Does anyone own both the old style 372xp as well as a new one? If so how do they stack up against eachother.

I got my 372xp in 2010, great little saw. I had the money set aside last year to get another to put away as a replacement but spent the money on a new rifle instead. I went in to the dealer a couple of weeks back and found out missed my chance no more 372's. :(

I did get my 1994 61 Husky going again last week and put a tank full of fuel through it. One thing I did find compared to the 372 was the amount of vibration, when the 61 was my main firewood saw I never took any notice of the vibrations.
