I am currently looking for a provider to complete a selective cut in a 20 acre section of woods that I own in Leslie, Michigan. The woods have matured and our goal is develop better habitat for the wildlife - primarily Deer and Turkey. Does anyone know who I could contact to get a bid on the timber?
Thank you - DR.
Wecome DPR,
Entertain yourself with a search through the old threads while you are waiting. There is a lot of stuff that may pertain to your project. Much of it is on the "ask the Forester" board but the education board is good too.
What you could do is start with the "Find a Forester" link at the top of the page. That is a something we've been trying to get started and there are actually some contacts on there. Your County Forester (find in the phone book) is one of the best local contacts you can make. He/she can make suggestions themselves and almost always have a list of Foresters on hand. That's your tax dollars at work. You might as well get a little from them. :D
We have some really good foresters here too. They may not be close, but can give advice.
We have the best Forester in Michigan! Thats pretty close. :) :) Welcome to the forum DPR.

Thank you for the response. Can you give me a name / phone number?
Thank you,
DPR
