I am new to the forum but have been viewing as a guest for a few months. I just purchased a 2013 wm lt 40 hydraulic. I am just sawing for myself to build some upcoming projects on some property I purchased. I have already gained a lot of knowledge from reading the posts on the forum. Some of the things I did not learn were
1. I spend more time staring at the log or can't with the engine running than anything else.
2. A 12 foot 2x6 in wet cypress is real heavy.
3. Some logs just are not worth the effort.
I am located in Jacksonville, Florida and am the guy Nomad posted about.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Welcome Contractor, not to worry it will all come with time, start slow double check everything and enjoy yourself. All the finer points will come naturally as you gain experience. You will never look at a tree the same way.To do much you will need some good equipment, yard tractors with dinky loaders need not apply. Welcome to the FF. I still stare at logs on the mill, trying not to lose any BF. I lived in the Orange park area for a while and out in Middleberg. For about 3 years. It's a nice place.

Yeah, I worded that poorly.  I'd read Jeff's message already so he wasn't ignoring my request.  What I really meant was that his help wasn't needed in this instance. :embarassed:
