I've been hanging out in the back for a long time, by I've yet to post anything. I'm also sure that I didn't quite do this "start a new topic" thing right, but I'm sure somebody will set me straight.

I bought a used Timberking 1220 off a guy in Missouri early last year while I was still in the Army and would upgrade it and cut scrap logs on the base. It was an enormous amount of fun and I was hooked immediately. When I decided that I was leaving the military, it just seemed like a natural transition to being a sawyer back here in West Virginia. We decided to upgrade the mill operation if we were going to do it full time, because there also seemed to be a large opening for us in the market. We ordered a Cook's AC36 back in January and also picked up a barely used Cooks edger to match. I try not to be "stuff" oriented, but there are certain tools that I didn't want to compromise much on as we jumped from hobby milling to doing it for a living.

I can't begin to thank the countless folks on here that have so generously provided as many answers to each question that I could think of (I never had to post them- somebody else already had).

See y'all around on here. Once I figure out how to post photos on here, I'll push a few out.

We're in Clifftop, which is right next to Babcock State Park. I've seen you on here quite a bit. Always thought it would be cool to meet you sometime.

I'd love to meet. We often bring out of state visitors to the New River Bridge then go to Babcock State park. My wife taught photography at a local college after she retired from the local school; system and took her class to Babcock one time in a snow storm and they got pictures of the old mill in the snow. There was a travel photographer from Chicago there for the same purpose who talked to the class which was an unexpected bonus.

If you are ever near Hinton of just looking to kill a couple of hours come on down. We are probably 40-50 miles from you.

Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

As Lynn said: thank you for your service and welcome.

Kudos to you for searching the forum instead of just posting a bunch of questions.

Welcome!

Richard at Cutting Edge sawmill service is in your state, and a dealer in Kasco bands.  He's a great guy and has an incredible amount of knowledge about band blade design.  You ought to look him up if you haven't already met.
