Putting this in my IH

i went and got another motor the other day, figured it was similar to my 7.3? came out a S1700. there were no tags on the motor. so it turns out i bought a 9.0 v8 diesel!

9.0 vs 7.3 hmm sounds good to me lol

Those 9.0 liter motors were a good one I believe that they were 550ci vs the 7.3 444ci should make a good upgrade!

Goodluck Treefarmer doing your own work it won't be long and when you have a problem your be able to make your own repairs. Myself being a small real small operation  ;D I may have to lose some time now and then but I save alot and that adds to my bottom line. Hang in there Bill

yea i hope so bill, i think its a good upgrade, much bigger motor will be better

The neighbors had a 9.0 in their silage truck. It would keep up with ours with the 345, but not the 392.

Will the 9 bolt right in?

it should fit it came out of an S1700, mine is a S1600 and i got all the motor mounts and everything so it should go in, i just need to change the flywheel from a auto to a 5 speed spicer.
