I finally got myself together enough today to saw some more, started on my neighbors 3pine logs late this afternoon. This is an older farmer, and good friend and neighbor. I cut a lot of lumber for him years ago when there was still a circle mill here in the community. He knows how to cut, and trim logs.
After a long day I put his first log on the mill, cut a slab, backed up,cut a rind board, almost to the end------     SKEEEEEEEEEE,you know the sound, a nice 16d duplex nail. I was able to make it out of the cut,but lost two teeth.
Yep,brand new blade, one complete 16ft line before I trashed it. I cut the mill off and came to the house. Things will look better in the morning.

What are you sawing with Dail?

The good new is that scrap steel prices are up, make sure you cash in that blade and the two pieces of the 16d nail. $$$ You'll be able to afford a free cup of water at Mickey D's.

You're supposed to kick dogs, not cut them...

I'm thinking about rising mine all the way up, lowering the head all the way down and full speed ahead.  Just get it over with, I know I'll hit them eventually.
