Hey ya'll. I've been studying as many discussions as possible since I joined this week. I am trying to learn all that I can about the possibilities building my own log/timber barn/house someday. I've seen many mentions of weekend or week long "workshops" in the field. Can anyone direct me to a list of these in the North East? Thanks.

There is a workshop at the end of September every year at Hancock Shaker Village, Hancock MA. It is hosted by Jack Sobon and Dave Carlon. Excellent, I took it last year, and am thinking of taking it next year. Heartwood School, (Becket or Washington MA, I can never remember) also offers a wider variety of classes in timberframing, cabinetmaking, and TF design.
