What is this pudding like “bacteria?” On this decaying log

 Has the texture of pudding and was oozing out of the inside of a rotting spruce log IIRC, any ideas what it is exactly?

Edit; title puddle-> pudding I meant :D

I believe its a mushroom of some sort decomposing the carbon.  A composting mechanism.
