Its pretty slick.  Thats a deere 300 or 400 series with a PTO clutch on the front.  He is using a rope spool that free wheels down and uses the mower drive pulley to retract.  Just flip the electric clutch switch on dash.

Make sense to just whipper snip the hill but he's well over that lol
