Ted, be careful, you are falling into a stereotype that some may find offensive. Just as the 'southern folk' are attached to their brands of grits, methods of cooking, etc. the accents north of the MD line are subtle but very different. For instance "youse guys" is a NYC thing, more specifically Brooklyn, and more specifically Bay Ridge. They don't have many saw mills in Bay Ridge last I checked and if they did, they probably paid their cousin a few bucks to clear it out with a city plow. ;D
Accents and dialects run the gamut up in the north country from the down east folks, to the Canadians, the Adirondack folks, the CT folks, and those folks in Massachusetts I can barely understand. ;D But one thing I can tell you is that you will never meet a person working in a sawmill who uses the term YOUSE GUYS on a regular basis (except when quoting Joe Pescie movies).  :D
And yeah, I plowed out my mill tonight too, hoping to get some work don this weekend, but I have to go clear the snow off the logs I have to cut and skid fist if I can find them. The good news is the mosquitoes have not been a problem in the last few weeks. 8)

:D :D :D :D  No offense intended.  Maybe I've watched "Good Fellas" too many times.

And yes our accents are as diverse below the Mason-Dixion. Even between Down East NC and Western NC there are many variations.

I'm just glad I don't have to plow anything but the garden and the corn patch!

It's still a great video!

I'm going to have grits and ice cream for a bedtime snack.

Brrrr.  Unless the sawmill and tractor came with a cab, this good ol boy would be inside watching fishing shows until first thaw.

I don't understand why you'uns attach a plow blade to a perfectly good bucket to push snow instead of hauling it away but that is just me I guess.  :D Did you have to put salt down afterwards to keep the area from just becoming a big skating rink or is all that part of your material movement plans? :D :D Be careful, stay safe. We got a dusting here but nothing like that. I think I'll go harass the neighborhood whitetails a while. :(

I just brought my mill out of the mountains and last week they got 5' of snow in two days where the mill was sitting. Still have some beams up there and probably won't get them till spring.

Digging the sawmill out of the snow is just part of running the business. There is also chipping ice and frozen sawdust, getting everything warmed up, and jump starting the battery if it gets too cold before you can go to work. If you have lumber stacked outside for sale, you have to dig that out to. Customers call and want lumber sawn, you have to make it happen. The bank wants their payments every month no matter what the weather is.

I do have a blower but no cab. Usually not as cold here as North Dakota. I was thinking of one of those Milwaukee battery heated jackets though.

I move snow with the bucket when the banks get to big. takes awhile to bucket that much snow. The plow is light and floats, also trips if you hit something. You can go a lot faster, and plow the lawn without digging it up to bad. Also the way I have it mounted out front you can push snow very high. I don't salt it but yes it will get slippery.

I talk in a few of my videos. We are 100 miles N.W. of NYC and get a lot of tourists. Our accent here is a mixture of NYC and further upstate. I have known a lot of youse guys in my life. Ha! We go to Bristol Tn often and as soon as I open my mouth folks look at me funny. Took me four tries to ask a lady where the coffee pot was in a store. She didn't get me and I couldn't get her. Cracked me up. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I do most of my sawing in the winter in Michigan. Don't get to hot and, more important, I have more time in the winter.
