Hi Dave. Welcome to the best Sawmilling and Logging Forum on the web.
  Just to the left side of the message box, you will see a Find-a-Mill, Find-a-Logger, Find-a-Forester. Click on that logo and follow the instructions. There are lots of Sawmillers here and there are several in Pa.
  Tell us a little about yerself and what you are "into".

   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

Dave, I sat up nice and straight in my chair when I read you're looking for someone in the central PA area, but I'm up here in Centre county about 1-1/2 hours away.  How many logs, and how big?

Welcome aboard the forum  :)

Hi Fellas

I was surprised at the response to my Q.  I haven't checked the forum in a few days because I have been working, and was surprised to see an e-mail telling me to check the forum, that I had some responses.

When I read the replies I was exceited to see that there a few mills relatively close to me.  Im an amateur woodworker.  I like to build just about anything really, mostly furniture.  My intent when I posted on this forum was to find a supplier close to me that could cut some lumber for me.  I do not have my own logs, and probably never will :o(   I was looking for some quartersawn white oak.  Preferably dried, but green would be good too, I could give it a try air drying it myself.  I am not limited to the QS oak, just a need for now.  I am trying to make some mission furniture.  Can't seem to find anyone in the area that has QS white oak at a reasonable price.  I work with mostly locally grown hardwoods, cherry, oak, walnut, ash.  I am also involved in a small woodworkers club in its infancy, so there may be others following me in my wood hunt.

I would  really appreciate it if any of you guys could help me out, and a price list would be appreciated.  E-mail me at Shootnbogey@yahoo.com

Oh and by the way I was looking for 200-300 bdft of the QS white oak, depending on the cost.

Thanks again for the help

Dave, try these folks. http://www.talaricohardwoods.com/
 They are about an hour and a half from you, and specialise in quartersawn woods. If you go, give us a report, take some pics if possible. sounds like a cool mill.

Better yet, why not invite those boys over here?
