I had a post with a cat cleanup suggestion that went wherever posts go when you are in a hurry replying and your technician wants you to go see the next patient she is bringing into the exam room. It was pointless to recreate when I realized it didn't go later on. I would expect that the effects from the ingesting fuel oil from grooming would be over pretty well by now. If it's injury from whatever athletic stunt she pulled to land in the container it could still be affecting her. Just my guess.

I'd venture a guess that the majority of American forests would benefit from a good fire.

I like it Tom.  Might need some wider slabs.

Now that those benches are out of the way, I can do a little work on a canoe.  I made two new mortise and tenon seat frames out of walnut.  I used my tenoning jig for the first time in a long time.  I used it because I didn't feel like putting the dado set in the table saw.  I'm gonna go back out there and make a thwart out of cypress.  I've decided that this canoe doesn't need a carrying yoke, so I'm gonna make a thwart designed to hold fishing rods.  I'm looking forward to floating this canoe down my local river.

As horrible as a fire is, its wonderful to get to see the regrowth that happens after.  I haven't had a fire on my property, but we did have a tornado take out a large portion of our mature pines.  I was so sad, but then after storm clean up was done, I got to see lots of new seedlings come up and planted a few new species.
