Sawmill shed

When I bought my first mill I built a 20x20 sawmill shed. I was a little short sighted because when I got my current mill I discovered that the ceiling wasn't high enough.  So that shed became a storage shed and I've spent the last year and a half out in the elements. I'm sick of that crap so it's time to get a roof over me. 
 Last year I bought a property behind mine with an old house on it. I was going to tear the house down,  but after looking it over I've decided the basic structure is not in bad shape. So I'm in the process of gutting it to turn it into a lumber shed/ blade room.  So I put up some poles off the back corner and hopefully I'll have a down and dirty sawmill shed in the next week or so.

I was just looking at a Facebook memory of mine from 5 years ago where I said was going to get a shed up that spring. Still don't have a shed🤦‍♂️

OK, so how high was the 'not high enough' ceiling? Getting ready to build and I'd rather bypass that problem.

My old shed had 8'6" ceiling.  I need 9'4  for my hd36 because of the lumber scale.

Built my shed about 1 1/2 years ago. Ceiling is plenty high enough but on the off side not quite enough clearance on wall opening when using a cant hook to turn logs.Just something to think about.

X2 on making sure there's enough room on the backside for a cant hook, built a shed for mine last winter and ran into that same problem. Making a trailer for it this year though so hopefully will be able to move it over far enough to were it isn't a issue.

Continuing with the build this morning. I've got logs that need sawing,  but burning up in the sun is still fresh in my mind from last year so I guess I better get after it. 

 

 
I'm glad my kids are all out on their own doing well, but it sure would be handy to have some help with these 20' 2x12s! 🤔
 I got a big pile of pt lumber off a job a few weeks ago. I probably should have posted it in the score of the day thread.

 
 Jobsite used to be a nursery/ tree farm and had all sorts of structures that had to be torn down. I went in on a weekend and salvaged all I could.  I even got 120 sheets of 5v tin in 8 and 12' lengths.

Didn't get as much done today as I wanted.  The "honey do" list caught up with me and I lost about half a day.  Also I've never been accused of being a carpenter so...

 

 

 
No injuries or major bleeding so I feel pretty good about what I got done today.  I'll cut some 1x4 purlins first chance I get and start screwing down tin. A little siding and a log deck and I'll be good to go.

I got a big pile of pt lumber off a job a few weeks ago. 

Shed looks great! Pardon my ignorance, but what is PT lumber?

Sweet! Looking good! Looks exactly like what I'm gonna do, 20x40 with covered areas for drying. Think I'm gonna have 10' front sloped down to about 8 1/2' back, 20 ft opening  to load logs on a 16' mill.
