Did a pick yesterday that yielded about 6 gallons of sauce. Another pick today and we will be good for the year ahead. Super sweet with a little onion, basil, and peppers.tomatoes 11 3 24.jpg

I made my first attempt at a cayenne pepper sauce this year and while it was tasty I found that I'll really have to increase the pepper count next year. My wife has started making her own pasta sauce too. It's pretty fun to eat your own food and we are just starting to get into it and appreciate it more. 

Your ingredients look top notch!

a few years back, I had a bunch of hot peppers left over at the end of the season.  cut in half and deseeded them.  Overnight in the dehumidifier.  then the coffee grinder.  the whole batch filled two shaker jars.   One red and one green.  still using the chili powder up.  ffsmiley

My favorite way to make sauce is just bake it all in the oven on trays, then run it through the screen, boil it, and can it.

Got lots of sauce here from garden veg, and also for use over the next year. Can use on pasta or pizza. I make lots of pizza in the winter months, usually a Sunday dinner. Angus meatballs smothered in sauce and cheese as well, now and again.  ffsmiley

My tomatoes go through the tomato press, boil down before adding stuff.  I think there are 6 jars of hot pepper sauce, from flaming flare peppers.
