I am here looking for confirmation or correction as I try to determine the volume of firewood that is up for thinning.

The next round of harvesting is detailed in my management plan as  the diameter class is in the 6-10" DBH range

Unacceptable Growing Stock: 10 square feet/acre in the 6-10" range. I assume we will let the AGS stay right where it is.

Stand size is roughly 100 acres. Assuming the trees are all 50' tall.

Somewhere I have come across an equation that suggests:

Volume= Basal area X hight / 3

Is that Correct, or am I lost in the pucker brush?

Depending on the form factor of your trees, that formula may understate the actual volume.

There's a pretty good discussion here: http://ifmlab.for.unb.ca/People/Kershaw/Courses/For1001/Erdle_Version/TAE-BasalArea&Volume.pdf

There's a calculator in the toolbox section of this forum: https://forestryforum.com/calcs/Board foot calculator.htm
