Shingle Mill
« on: April 30, 2006, 09:27:19 PM »
I was refered to this forum by Yesterdays Tractor Forum for an answer to my question. My local that I am a member of Antique Machinery Club has just aquired a shingle mill and we would like to find information about it. About all we know is it is mostly cast iron with a horizontal 36" blade and will make tapered shingles. It had traces of grey paint on (think orignal) and with a name of Rival and made in Bremen, Ga. It has the word patent on but nothing else. Any information would be welcome. Would like to know possible age, orignal colors, operating tips, and if company is still in business and possibly if they made anything else. Would like to be able to post some information when it makes its first apperance at our Memorial Day weekend show at Wapakoneta, Ohio

Welcome to this forum. Don't want to chase you to another place, but
have you checked out the Old Woodworking machines site?

Does anyone here operate a large portion of the mill as a shingle mill?
