i thought we had a garden thread?
well i have my onions doing well after the rain and now the corn is up about 2 inches tall in the other half of my home garden. over in the field garden i have planted 100# of potatos and several more rows of corn. so far it is candy corn and some g90.
we are getting a good amount of rain but we have been dry for awile now.

soon as i do the finnish discing and dragging i will get the yellow dent put in. that will make about 28 acres of corn. when it dries up a bit.  we just got the chicken litter put out when it started raining. put out 55 tons of that. it did smell up the place for awhile.

No garden in yet, but I did plant a bunch of fruit trees before I left home this time. Planted 4 peaches, 1 apricot, 1 necterine, 2 plums, 2 cherries, and 3 apples. Also put in 2 blueberries ans 2 blackberries. Lindy has 3 pear trees to put in that just arrived. I'm really excited about all of them. I love fresh fruit. Should be good in a few years. Garden will have to wait till I get home again.

I am going to start my plants this weekend while it's snowing.
I'll start my peppers and tomatoes in the basement.
No matter how nice it gets, I've learned my lesson and I never plant before Memorial day.

I'd love to get my potatoes and onions in, but it's just too wet yet  :-\
Why not just 1 pain free day?

I got some onions, tomatos, strawberries, and herbs in a couple of weeks ago. Already have a couple little green maters.  ;) :)

That's funny, we had some a couple of nights ago. Take note all you guys-We froze em whole last summer, stripped and wrapped tightly in shrinkwrap. They were a little less tender than fresh, but not too starchy. Still much bettter than supermarket quality.  FDH and his tropical weather haven't got nuthin' on us! :D
