A few weeks ago I let a tree service dump a load of trunks in the back feild.    I cut the firewood from it and  saw some nice round  6 foot logs.    THe were solid lookin and later  when I looked them over they were sycamore.     I was wondering if  they would mill into any thing. THe hearts were super dark and tight.  THey might turn into a bowl on the metal lathe.

Quarter sawn Sycamore is very nice, flat sawn is plain and hard to dry flat.  If they are big enough logs to quarter saw it would be worth doing but if they are small say under 24" it would be marginal to saw them. Remember they are probably yard trees as well so metal may be an issue.
