I saw on the news where a man was pinned under a tree for four days.  Was working on a tree at his home.  Anyone know anything about it?

Video looks like it was perhaps a barber chair incident. And, no one knew what he was doing. They only found him (still alive!) after four days because he didn't show up for work.

He was cutting a big oak down and it bounced up after it went down and pinned his leg between the stump and tree. He did end up getting a broken leg. He was cutting the tree down in a ravine. They found him because he never showed up for work

That is why my wife insists I bring my cheapy cell phone with me. But with my luck it would be in the leg that got pinned.
He was lucky!!

My wife put this app I think it's cAlled Life 360 on our phones. That way even if I can't get to my phone to call her if I'm hurt she can use her phone and pin point my location. I wonder how many meals I'd have to miss before she came lookin for me?  :D  It's really a pretty handy app since I'm always workin out in the sticks so to speak

we have and love life 360.  My wife and kids, as well as the MIL are on it.  you can set waypoints.  If I work all night, I can check on my family.  My daughter in college has several classes each semester in animation at night.  I can watch her walk to the dorm real time.  (her mark on the screen).  I can review my sons driving for the week.  max speed, phone use, hard braking or acceleration.  there is a crash alert.  I am working all night,  I will go home and sleep.  when I get up, if I forget if and or where my wife is working, I can check.  I can have a drink ready for her when she gets home, as it shows the "time to drive to"  and I know when she is 10 minutes out.  If my daughter got turned around on the highway and did not know where she was, I can touch "driving direction" and get play by play to her location.  It is one of the main reasons we pay for a phone for our kids.  My wife's mom has had a few "episodes", and tends to work late in a restaurant.  we can look her up on the phone.  Much better than "grandpa did not come in from the field for supper, can you go look for him".  did I mention I love this app. 8) 8) 8)

when we travel, we all know when we are home, as all of our phones notify each of us that the other three arrived home! :D :D :D

A local logger was killed in a similar accident a few years ago.  He had a phone but it was knocked out of his reach.  The marks in the dirt told the story of him trying to reach it before he succumbed to his injuries.  He was working two different log jobs and no one knew for sure where to look for him when he didn't come home that night.
