Changing bar and chain 3/8lp.043 to 3/8lp.050
« on: August 08, 2021, 12:37:11 PM »
Can 3/8lp .043 bar and chain be changed to 3/8lp .050 on a Makita cordless. Both 16" 56DL. I have 2 bars and several chains from a Makita DCS 401 that I would like to use.

Should work, but might have a little less umph in the cut, and a small reduction in battery life.

Welcome! Compare the bar tails where they mount to the saw, if they are the same then yes you can. The slot should be close to the same width and the oil hole needs to line up with the port on the saw.
