Somebody gave me some blue spruce logs.

They are light, and about 12" dia at the base.

What would they be good for?

I was thinking of milling it into Cants, and letting it dry, and then using a band saw to make it into wood for making model airplanes!

Thanks,

Nate
I know less than I used to.

Might be good for that and it might not be. How many limbs have been sawed off the logs.  The more limbs, the more knots, knots  lower grade value off log.  You may be able to get a few 1x's or maybe 2x's out. A pic or two would help us  in the determining factors.  We saw lots of spruce out here ranging from 4" tops and up.
