I wonder if any of you good folks could help me. I gave my ancient Husky 61 a good clean yesterday and whilst fiddling around loosened the ignition module. Does anybody have an idea of the air gap between the ignition module and the magnets on the flywheel and whether or not this is critical.

0.15 to 0.3 should work fine.
I use a Stihl setting gauge for both Stihl and Huskies.

At times when a gauge was not available I have had to make do with the foil in a cigarette pack folded twice over.
This too worked.
There should be no big problem as long as you avoid setting the gap too wide  (beyond 0.5mm) which will not deliver a spark.

I use a business card or a piece of  note book paper folded 3 times.

I`ve got the Stihl tool and it`s nice with it`s fancy plastic handle and all, but as Cut4Fun says, a business card will do the trick, and yes, it is actually sort of critical. .012" - .015" clearance between the magnets and the coil pickups.

5 or 6 thicknesses of printer paper works fine also .
