How do you use a raker guide?

I was wondering how to use a raker guide? To file down the rakes on a chain.

Do you already own the guide, or have a specific type in mind?  There are a few different ones out there, and the technique is different for each style.  In general, you fit it over the raker, and file off whatever sticks up over the guide.  HOW you fit it over the raker varies with the type of guide you are using.
