Title: split blade edger blades
Post by: Jason_WI on March 17, 2004, 02:57:26 PM
Anyone know of a source of split blade edger blades that are 10" , 20 tooth carbide square chisel with a 2.5" arbor dia and a 2 5/8, 4 bolt spacing bolt pattern.

Norwood wants 100 bux a piece for these.... Seems kinda high since all they did was cut them in half with a band saw - cut line not so straight :D

Jason it sounds like what I have on my Baker Edger, Give them a call I think they quoted me 70 something or so per blade. I need to send my blades out to be retipped.

After calling a few places and getting price quotes it seems like 100 bux each is the going rate.

One place I called wants 22 bux to bore the 2.5" dia arbor hole plus 6 bux for each mounting hole. On top of that they want 50 bux a blade.

Time to fire up the 14"x40" Rockwell lathe and make me some edger blades.

I found that Freud has industrial rip blades that are 10", 18 tooth with a 3/16" kerf for 38 bux from Amazon. I will give these a try and post results.

I just bought a new set of 12" split carbide blades for $75./set Don't know if the rest of the specs are what you need.  Just have to ask.
