This was last evening's project. A few years ago contractors kept taking my garbage cans from my shop to the other buildings they were working on at my place.  One even took one when they left thinking it was theirs.  So I started marking my garbage cans with different menacing sayings - one is the speech from Bryan Mills in the movie Taken - "...if you take this can, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you!"   So I bought a new can and wanted to up my game.  So I found and printed this pic off the web.  Then I used a pounce wheel and pounce pad to transfer the lines to the can.  Then I use a Sharpie oil based paint pen to carefully line it out and fill it in.  I was really impressed how well it came out.  I did it on both sides of the can.

Don't attribute irritating behavior to malevolence when mere stupidity will suffice as an explanation.

Why not just paint your name on them?  I got a template from a supply house, and I would just hold it against my tools and hit it with a spray can of paint.  If someone steals it, maybe someone will see your name.

Now how much fun would that be?!
I do, do that on my ladders, fuel jugs, brooms, etc.
