Title: Todays carnage

Here's a spruce tree that was eating a messenger strand and two cables.

The advantage of using an open face notch, cutting the stump high, leaving the tree on the stump and saving the wire fence.

I cut four trees at this location that were growing around the cables.

Yes, one advantage of an open face notch. I have used it when I wanted to leave the tree off the ground so I could shove branches underneath it when it was too big to roll. Never thought about using it to save a fence, though that makes sense because the top will support it.
