I was wondering what oil to run in my 450c rears and planateries. I was told once that they came with gear oil but people switched to hydraulic oil.

I know mine had 80/90 in it when I got it. They got all the books with mine, might be worth while trying to borrow them for copies before they dump the machine on a new Cat.  :D

Thanks Eric. I will give Kyle a call.

I was going to make a trip down and stop by and see you, the kid kept trying to play let's make a deal on that busted 460 they had sitting there, I'm just waiting him out.  :D. Yeah I'm 100% sure they got 2-3 factory books plus the Cummins book.

I had a 460 yrs ago. Kept having electrical problems with the tranny solenoids. I'm glad I'm back in an older machine with no electronics. This machine will last my lifetime.

I agree. Mine has acted up already, I see trouble down the road. I think I told you the story of how the kids bought that machine from me when you came out, I'm attached to NOTHING for the right money.
my 460 is basically a true 1 owner machine if it hadn't come from this guy I wouldnt have even contemplated buying it with high frame hours. Get off for 4wks shortly, bill's wrist is going to hurt from writing me log checks when I get back, on good wood now.  :D
You going to Boonville ???

timberjack 450

No Boonville for me. To crowded. Bill is coming to my header today for some real big maple and oak. Wish I had some white oak or rock oak on the job. They are paying real good on that stuff.

Thanks xalexjx I had a 90 450b single arch I bought for $16000. Had it 10 years with no problems. Put new tires on it thru time and I sold it for $22000 and the guy that bought it loves it.

Big Rooster

Do you owners of 450C drain your planetary s off the bottom then rotate 180 degrees to fill until it comes out the hole in the middle.  Ever notice that the hole in the middle is at different heights between front and rear diffs.  Mine has the WR10 and WR10D axles.

Getting ready to change the oils in the rears and planateries after the weekend. I will soon find out Big Rooster.
