The Numbers require annual vehicle inspections.  I've got them but when the new law went into affect and I didn't need  them any more I took them off the truck.

I thought it is a federal requirement for DOT numbers on any commercial vehicle over 10,000 GVW.

Not in Michigan.  As long as you stay in the state and are 26,000 lbs or less you're good without #s.

 I didn't know the weight limit pertained to log farm plates Ive seen semi's running log farm plates with no numbers before. one runnin a tanker and another runnin a lead.
