Over on the chainsaw board, Slider was talking about the API and bar oil.  Will today I was reading a lubricating oil trade rag when I ran across an article called "Changes In The Diesel Oil Market."  It appears the government is pushing hard to make diesel engines more efficient and cleaning burning thus driving some changes in the diesel oil lubrication market.  It looks like the American Petroleum Institute (API) will be coming out with several new standards/classifications like CI-4, Ci-4+ and CJ-4.  The new ones (I think) will be CK-4 and FA-4.  One for present motors and one for the new motors – AGAIN – I think?????

Here is a link to the best info I have at this time:  http://www.amsoil.com/newsstand/diesel/articles/changes-in-the-diesel-market/ .  Trying to find some info that isn't from a vendor or manufacturer.
