I am trying to find a Starter for My LT70 at a local parts Store (It is Sunday and I have a Fair to do)
My Starter is a Vans #036570
I am running a Cat 3024 engine
What I need is a Starter number that might be available locally the starter on it does not appear to come up on the web at all.
I would love to find a Auto Zone #

The Starter on the Mill is a VANS.
Found this morning that the Cat Engine uses the following
Cat 6t7004
Denso 128000-1050 & 1070
Lester 17379, 17389
Lucus 59995
Oreillys List the Starter and when they open up and see if there are any on the shelf.
Amazon and EBay has them also

Hello,
I think Vans is the company that WM uses to purchase the starters and alternator. The 62 hp has a gear reduction starter and the first engines did not have the gear reduction. The starter motor would fill up with fine saw dust and not work with out cleaning. That is why they went with the gear reduction starter and it is sealed better. This does not help you get a new starter but FYI
Thanks

Now for the rest of the story. the starter listed for the 62 horse Cat isn't the same as to what is called. The number that fits is 16831n Tap
I bought it locally for $132. and I am up and running with a new starter.
Would have bought a Vans from WM but the Fair is on and I am demonstrating.
