Title: Lane Mill and fire
Post by: thecfarm on May 04, 2012, 06:05:19 AM
I use to buy wood chips from the owner. Don't know much about the mill at all. It caught on fire about 2 weeks ago, in the middle of the night. Lost just about everything. No idea what started the fire. There was a tall white pine by it and the limbs way up top are brown now, probably 60-80 feet high. The owner is about 70 and had turned over operations to his son. His son had a new Ez Boardwalk saw mill. They are going to look at another Lane this weekend. This was in Farmington,Maine. He had the mill for 32 years. It was used alot,he sold some lumber.

Wow, it's always sad to hear about a sawmill fire!

Hope they had some insurance on it!
